Issue 128: The Food Issue

$ 14.95

The Oxford American's Spring 2025 issue is focused on food.

Through fresh reporting, in-depth profiles, and daring personal essays, the issue explores what we eat: the people, industries, and tastes that both build and challenge our ideas of Southern food. Contributors include, among others, James Beard Award-winner Mayukh Sen, who profiles Lena Richard, the first Black woman to host a televised cooking show in America; E.M. Tran, who chronicles the intersection of Vietnamese culture and Mardi Gras traditions through the Krewe of Mung Beans; and Ravi Howard, who offers a neighborhood profile of Down the Bay as a point on a global food chain in the context of the exploitative early twentieth century banana trade.

Copies will mail to subscribers and customers who pre-order on or before March 4, 2025. The issue will be available on newsstands on March 18, 2025.
